UF Health Jacksonville is a distinguished academic health center in Northeast Florida. Led by senior vice president and Northeast Florida regional president Patrick L. Green, FACHE, the hospital is well-positioned to be the region’s most valued health care asset. It is a private, not-for-profit hospital that has provided high-quality patient care for more than 150 years.

Affiliated with the University of Florida, UF Health Jacksonville is part of the Southeast’s most comprehensive academic health center, with main campuses in Jacksonville and Gainesville. UF Health Jacksonville has a range of medical offerings, with many specialty care options, including cardiology, neurology and orthopaedics. The Urban Health Alliance is a comprehensive resource center and community health innovation hub that helps individuals achieve their potential for optimal health and well-being. UF Health Jacksonville is committed to decreasing disparities in health care delivery, so everyone can prosper and thrive.

Patient care

UF Health Jacksonville provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient health care services. In addition to a downtown Jacksonville campus, UF Health has more than 60 primary care and specialty practices throughout the region. UF Health physicians collectively offer more than 100 advanced specialty and subspecialty services, including key programs in:

• Cardiology and vascular surgery
• Interventional radiology
• Minimally invasive and robotic surgery
• Neurology and neurosurgery
• Obstetrics and gynecology
• Oncology
• Orthopaedic surgery
• Pediatrics
• Trauma and critical care

Also located on the downtown campus, the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute is equipped to treat cancer with protons. Proton therapy greatly reduces damage to surrounding tissue, an improvement over traditional radiation therapy.

The campus also is home to the state’s first and region’s only Level I adult and pediatric trauma program, TraumaOne. The team consists of surgeons, nurses and other health care professionals with extensive training in caring for trauma patients.

Level 2 GED Accreditation Award

The American College of Emergency Room Physicians, or ACEP, awarded UF Health Jacksonville’s Emergency Department the silver standard — Level 2 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation. This accreditation signals to the public that this institution is focused on delivering the highest standard of care for its community of older adult patients. The GEDA program is the culmination of years of progress in emergency care for older adults.

Education and research

Educating the health professionals of tomorrow is a key mission of UF Health. This mission is accomplished through educational programs for medical students, residents, fellows, pharmacy students and nursing students.

The UF Center for Simulation Education and Safety Research is nationally recognized as a center of excellence for simulation training. Equipped with extremely lifelike robots that can mimic almost any known human medical condition, the center offers a uniquely realistic training environment. The 24,000-square-foot facility offers opportunities to explore a wide variety

of training scenarios.

The Center for Data Solutions supports research at all stages, from ideas and study design to analytics and publication. It is structured to respond to the changing health science research landscape by combining classical biostatistical support with expertise in epidemiology, machine learning and artificial intelligence. The Center for Research Training aims to develop the next generation of highly collaborative clinical researchers, who will advance the science of medicine and transform health care.
