Breastfeeding Class

A woman sits in a chair covered with a blanket. She is cradling and breastfeeding a baby.

The Breastfeeding Class is intended to provide important information about the basics of breastfeeding.

Please schedule your childbirth classes so they end three to four weeks prior to your due date.

UF Health keeps the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers a top priority, and at this time we are not holding in-person classes but will be offering virtual breastfeeding classes via Zoom.

Topics covered

  • Benefits of breastfeeding
  • Positioning and latch
  • Newborn feeding behaviors
  • How to tell if your baby is getting enough
  • Establishing a healthy milk supply
  • Common breastfeeding holds
  • And much more
