My bio
My name is Abbas Babajani-Feremi, PhD, and I am an associate professor in the University of Florida Department of Neurology and the Director of the Magnetoencephalography, or MEG, Laboratory. I received a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Tehran. Thereafter, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Following my fellowship in Michigan, I was a member of the MEG team in the Human Connectome Project, or HCP, at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where I took part in one of the largest funded projects by NIH aimed at mapping the human brain using neuroimaging data. Prior to my faculty appointment at UF, I served as the Director of MEG Lab at Dell Childrens Medical Center in Austin, Texas.
My research interests include applications of brain connectivity and machine learning based on neuroimaging and electrophysiological methods in diagnostic and treatment of patients with epilepsy, Alzheimers disease, and other neurological conditions. I also enjoy studying the brains functions, specifically language, using the electrophysiological and neuroimaging modalities.
