My bio
My name is Alex Gomelsky, MD, FACS, and I am a Professor at the University of Florida, the Mary Ann Cofrin Endowed Chair of Urology, Chief of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, and Associate Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Urology.
I received my medical degree in 1997 from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. In 2002, I completed a urology residency at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Akron. That was before I completed a fellowship in female urology in 2003 at the prominent Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
My interest in urology and urogynecology is driven by my goal to improve the quality of life for women suffering from incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders. I aim to provide every woman with innovative care options to alleviate their pelvic floor issues. I strive always to listen and be present with my patients, providing them with every potential surgical and non-surgical option. Together, we can decide to proceed with a care plan that meets their goals and needs.
In my spare time, I love cooking, physical fitness, traveling, reading, and spending time with my wife and our son.
