My bio
Hi, my name is Anna Purkey, and I’m a board-certified family nurse practitioner with more than 18 years of experience in rural family medicine, and over 16 additional years as a registered nurse in hospital and community settings. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in intensive care, labor and delivery, psychiatry, urgent care, pediatrics, and women’s health. My goal has always been to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults.
I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University and completed my family nurse practitioner training at Case Western Reserve University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Columbus State Community College. I became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2003.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles across Ohio and Florida, including working in urgent care, primary care clinics, public health departments, and the VA system. I’ve also taught nursing students as an adjunct professor and clinical instructor. No matter the setting, I believe in collaborating with patients and their families to create a personalized care plan that fits their needs, values, and lifestyle.
I’m committed to clear communication, continuity of care, and empowering patients through education and support. It’s a privilege to care for you and your family.
