My bio
I am a board-certified surgeon with UF Health Surgical Specialists – Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Florida. I specialize in the surgical management of a variety of malignancies, including breast cancer, gastrointestinal and colorectal cancer, melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma. I am experienced in both open and minimally invasive abdominal surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
After majoring in anatomy & cell biology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, I attended medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. I then completed my residency training in general surgery at the University of Toronto. During my residency, I spent a year at Harvard University in Boston earning a Master of Public Health in healthcare management. Before arriving at UF Health, I completed a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
I am board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). I am also a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), the Canadian Association of General Surgeons (CAGS) and the Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology (CSSO). I have published numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading surgery and oncology journals and have presented my work at national and international surgical conferences.
I value a patient-centered and multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. I have a keen interest in quality improvement, as well as leveraging new technology and innovations in clinical research to improve surgical outcomes and patient experience.
