My bio
Burak Zeybek, MD, is a clinical assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida School of Medicine with a focus on gynecologic oncology and critical care medicine. Dr. Zeybek received his medical degree from Istanbul University in Turkey. He then went on to complete a dual residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ege University in Izmir, Turkey, and the University of Texas Medical Branch, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale University. Dr. Zeybek completed an additional year-long fellowship in critical care medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Zeybek has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in medical journals, authored several book chapters and presented in multiple national and international conferences. Additionally, he is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
As a physician, Dr. Zeybek understands that one therapy does not fit the needs of every patient. It is his goal to provide patients with an individualized, comprehensive care plan that balances medical care and quality of life. When necessary, Dr. Zeybek aims to provide additional resources such as patient education and financial assistance opportunities. Dr. Zeybek’s clinical interests include ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, fallopian tube cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer and precancerous lesions of female organs. He also cares for patients who are critically ill in the intensive care unit.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Zeybek enjoys being out in nature and exploring new hiking trails around Gainesville.
