My bio

Hi there! I'm Christina Pettie, a physical therapist at UF Health. I earned my doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Florida for my initial PT degree, and my transition doctor of physical therapy from the College of St. Scholastica. My expertise lies in a wide range of areas including general orthopedics, headache/migraine management, TMJ disorders, facial pain/paralysis such as Bell's Palsy, vertigo, chronic pain management and specialized care for dancers and gymnasts. Additionally, I specialize in aquatic therapy and wheelchair evaluations.

My journey into physical therapy began during my time as a competitive gymnast, where I unfortunately faced numerous injuries. Through those experiences, I became very familiar with the rehabilitation process. However, it was a pivotal moment during my freshman year of college when I aggravated an old injury and encountered an exceptional physical therapist who actively engaged me in my own care. Inspired by their approach, I found myself eagerly attending appointments early to observe and learn. That experience ignited my passion for physical therapy and led me to redirect my educational path towards this rewarding field.

In our dynamic and ever-evolving healthcare landscape, I am committed to continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality care for my patients.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy and fulfillment in activities outside of work. I share a love for agility with my dog, and together we achieved our CPE Agility Trial Champion, or C-ATCH title, in December 2022. My husband and I are grateful to call Gainesville home, where we cherish the opportunity to spend quality time with our parents.
