Estefania Romera, MS, CCC-SLP

As a UF Health speech-language pathologist, I am passionate about supporting autistic children and their families through neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practices that foster meaningful communication and language development. I am dedicated to helping families understand and access resources, services and support tailored to their child’s unique needs.

I have been working with children since I was 17, and through those experiences, I recognized the growing need for bilingual therapists who can provide culturally and linguistically responsive support to families. I was also deeply inspired by witnessing the meaningful impact a single therapist can have on a child’s development and a family’s daily life. Those experiences motivated me to pursue a career where I could support children and families in a compassionate, collaborative and neurodiversity-affirming way.

I hope to be a trusted resource for families as they support their children in everyday life. I want parents to feel confident and empowered in using neurodiversity-affirming approaches while recognizing that they already play the most important role in helping their child grow, communicate and build meaningful connections.

As a collaborator with my patients, I am honored to grow and learn with them. Every child and session teaches me something new, and that is one of the most meaningful parts of this work. My experiences in both my career and personal life have shown me that change is beautiful, and I strive to welcome it with openness, curiosity and compassion.

I love spending my free time going on new adventures with my son, reading and being outdoors. Finding moments to connect with nature and the people I love helps me recharge and return to work feeling refreshed, grounded and inspired.
