My bio
My name is Garland Evans and I’m an occupational therapist at UF Health Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Institute (OSMI). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Flagler College and completed my Doctor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Florida the following year.
My clinical focus includes hand therapy and flexor tendon repair, and I enjoy using manual therapy and personalized exercise plans to help each patient reach their goals. I specialize in treating hand and upper extremity injuries such as fractures, nerve injuries, ligament injuries, tendon repairs, shoulder dysfunction and arthritis. I am board certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
I’ve always had a strong interest in upper extremity anatomy and rehabilitation, and I’m passionate about building therapeutic relationships that empower patients to return to the activities that matter most. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to the beach and spending time with my family, friends and my dog. I also have a background in sports and played collegiate-level softball.
