About me
Hello, my name is Hannah Schoenfeld and I currently serve as a clinical audiologist at the University of Florida.
I was inspired to become an audiologist after taking American Sign Language (ASL) courses in high school and college. As I learned the language, I developed a strong appreciation for both ASL and Deaf culture. I knew early on I wanted to work with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. While exploring different career paths that would allow me to support this community, audiology stood out the most. I was drawn to the opportunity to combine my ASL skills and understanding of the deaf community in a meaningful way. I love being able to help individuals navigate their hearing journey while providing them with care that respects each person’s unique needs and communication preferences.
As an audiologist specializing in pediatrics, my goal is to help children reach their full potential by supporting their hearing and communication needs from the very beginning. I am passionate about making sure families feel informed and confident as we move through testing, diagnosis and treatment. Every child is unique, and I strive to provide individualized care that not only meets their needs but also supports their family’s goals. By creating a supportive and welcoming environment, I aim to help children grow, learn and connect with the world around them.
I earned a Doctor of Audiology from the University of South Florida, building upon my Bachelor of Health Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from UF. During graduate school, I completed a doctoral project titled “Parents and Caregivers of Children with Hearing Loss: Knowledge and Beliefs on Hearing Health Care.” This research deepened my understanding of how to effectively support families that are navigating the challenges of childhood hearing loss. I want parents and patients to know that I lead with empathy, creating a safe space where families feel heard, supported and never alone in their journey.
My clinical interests include pediatric behavioral testing, auditory brainstem response (ABR) evaluations, traditional hearing aids and bone conduction hearing devices.
Beyond audiology, I love snuggling with my dog, watching movies, playing board games and taking Pure Barre classes.
