My bio

Dr. Hind S. Hussein, B.D.S., graduated in 2011 from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2013, she completed an Advanced Postgraduate Multispecialty Residency. Between 2012 and 2014, she worked in a public hospital and a private clinic. In 2014, Dr. Hussein joined the University of Florida as a visiting scientist in Restorative Dental Science. She was engaging in multiple research projects. In 2017, she was certified as a UF graduate assistant teacher with a technology program. From 2017 until May 2018, she was a courtesy clinical assistant professor with the Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics Division of the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences at UFCD. In June 2018, Dr. Hussein joined LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL, as an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Director of the Operative Dentistry course. In 2019, she was selected as Educator of the Year. In 2023, Dr. Hussein returned to the University of Florida as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Operative Division. Dr. Hussein is a member of several professional and dental organizations. In 2025, she received the Exemplary Excellence in Teaching Award. Since 2014, she has been successfully involved in many research projects, including NIH and industry-funded projects in dental materials. She has published and presented her results at many dental meetings. Her area of research includes esthetics, dental materials, adhesive dentistry, wear studies, and biofilm. Dr. Hussein has four U.S. patents. She also provides dental care for the college’s Faculty Dental Practice patients.
