Joanna Dembek, MD

My name is Dr. Joanna Dembek’s and I am passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate care for patients at every stage of life which is at the heart of my approach to medicine. As a family medicine physician, I am dedicated to building long-term relationships with patients and helping them achieve their health goals through preventive care, patient education, and evidence-based treatment.

I earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine after completing my bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of Florida Honors College. I completed her Family Medicine residency at St. Vincent's Family Medicine Program in Jacksonville, where I received extensive training in adult medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, and inpatient care while serving a diverse and medically underserved patient population.

As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, I cared for patients at Eastside Family Medicine Clinic and have a special interest in women's health. Also, I teach and mentor family medicine residents and medical students, helping to train the next generation of physicians. My clinical interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, reproductive health, and procedures commonly performed in the primary care setting.

Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in quality improvement initiatives, medical education, and community service. I have held leadership roles in family medicine organizations and volunteered with clinics dedicated to expanding healthcare access for underserved populations. My commitment to patient-centered care extends beyond the exam room, focusing on creating meaningful partnerships that empower patients to make informed decisions about their health.

In addition to providing comprehensive primary care, I am skilled in a variety of office-based procedures, including women's health procedures, skin biopsies, joint injections, and contraceptive management. I am fluent in Polish and speak advanced Spanish, allowing me to connect with and care for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy giving back to her community and supporting initiatives that improve access to healthcare and health education.
