My bio
Hello, my name is Jonathan Núñez Fernández, and I am a physical therapist specializing in sports medicine, lower extremity injuries, and post-surgical recovery. Originally from Puerto Rico, I moved to the U.S. in 2020 to study at Duke University, where I earned my doctorate of physical therapy.
My journey into physical therapy started during my time as a college track and field athlete when I experienced multiple injuries that didn’t heal properly. I promised myself I’d learn as much as possible to help athletes recover better. Over time, I realized my passion extends to helping people of all ages regain their independence and return to activities they love, like hiking and walking.
My first language is Spanish, and I learned English through video games. Now, I spend my Sundays watching football, a sport I discovered during an internship with the San Francisco 49ers.
In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, hiking, running, lifting weights, and trying out new recipes.
