Focus

Dr. Wright’s research endeavors have included both clinical and translational research. He has worked on multiple published studies assessing outcomes following shoulder arthroplasty and continues to pursue studies along with the other shoulder surgeons at the University of Florida looking at pre- and post-operative factors that affect patient outcomes.

He was the primary investigator on a grant from AOTrauma North America investigating the use of a novel antibiotic coating to prevent pin-tract infections and recently completed a clinical trial assessing the efficacy of hydrogen peroxide application to the deep dermis during shoulder arthroplasty to reduce C. acnes contamination. He currently is participating in multicenter research studies evaluating treatment of proximal humerus fractures and periprosthetic joint infections.
