My bio

Hello, I am Kelly Tran and I am an associate professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Pediatrics.

I was motivated to become a pediatrician during college, when I interned in early childhood education. I got to see children grow and develop over two years and knew I wanted to be part of children’s and families’ lives throughout their childhood through medicine.

As a pediatrician, I strive to develop bonds with patients and families. I don’t take the trust of patients and families for granted. I want my patients to know that gratitude, compassion and responsibility are among my core values.

After my undergraduate studies, I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), where I received Student DO of the year. I went on to complete my pediatric residency training at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

My clinical interests span several areas within pediatrics, including breastfeeding medicine, newborn care, developmental milestones, vaccines, and nutrition and exercise. Outside of work, I like spending time with my family at Gator games, working out, trying new restaurants and visiting theme parks like Disney World.
