My bio
Hi, I’m Dr. Khaled Elraie, a board-certified gastroenterologist with more than two decades of experience in digestive health. My journey in medicine began in Cairo, Egypt, where I graduated from Cairo University Medical School in 1988. After completing my internship there, I moved to the United States. I completed my internal medicine residency at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of South Carolina.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of practicing in several communities, including those in North Carolina, South Carolina and Delaware. I’ve worked in hospital settings, private practice and even as a locum tenens physician, which has given me a broad range of experiences and a deep appreciation for personalized, compassionate care.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve participated in research and presented at national conferences on topics such as liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding and rare digestive disorders.
I speak English, Arabic and some French, and I enjoy helping patients from diverse backgrounds feel heard and cared for.
When I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy photography, jogging, weightlifting, tennis and working on web applications. I am a beginner motorcycle rider. I’m also deeply interested in tech innovation and have explored internet startup development in my spare time.
