About me
Kristyn L. Carter, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan. AANP-certified and licensed in the state of Florida, Kristyn brings a strong clinical foundation, leadership experience, and a deep commitment to safety and quality to every patient interaction. Kristyn earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from South University, following completion of her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and her Associate of Science in Nursing from Florida Gateway Community College. Her diverse background across acute care, surgical services, and community settings has shaped a collaborative, team-based approach focused on clear communication and evidence-based practice.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Kristyn served in high-acuity environments, including Wolfson Children’s Hospital, where she worked as an operating room circulator and charge nurse. In this role, she partnered closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, patients, and families to ensure safe, seamless care before, during, and after procedures. She has extensive experience comforting children and parents, coordinating surgical workflows, and advocating for patients at critical moments.
Her previous roles at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and the Baker County Sheriff’s Office further strengthened her leadership, critical thinking, and patient education skills. Throughout her career, Kristyn has been recognized for her calm presence, strong organizational abilities, and dedication to treating every patient with dignity and respect.
Kristyn is a driven, advanced registered nurse practitioner eager to begin practicing at our Lake City Primary Care Clinic. She is especially passionate about improving patient well-being and making a difference, and she has a strong desire to serve. Kristyn values building long-term relationships that help patients achieve their best possible health. Outside of work, Kristyn enjoys working out, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Macclenny, Florida, with her husband, three bonus children, and their French bulldog, Zeus.
