My bio
As assistant professor of medicine in the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, I strive to meet my patients with compassion. My goal as a physician is to prioritize listening, addressing and answering my patients’ concerns in each interaction. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. My decision to pursue medicine was influenced by my family line of inflammatory bowel diseases. Eventually, it drove my curiosity into my subspecialty of gastroenterology. My clinical interest includes endoscopy, general GI, general hepatology and IBD. I treat patients for a wide range of conditions related to these interests.
I received my medical degree from Lebanese University in Lebanon, where I also completed my Internal Medicine internship. Thereafter, I completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. I dedicated two years to clinical research at Indiana University. During this time, I also obtained my Master of Science in Clinical Research from Indiana University School of Medicine. Subsequently, I completed my gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Indiana University.
Currently, I am a member of the Florida Gastroenterologic Society, American Society for Gastroenterological Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American College of Gastroenterology, American Medical Association and American College of Physicians.
When not treating my patients at UF Health Digestive Disease Specialists, I enjoy staying active by hiking, swimming and traveling.
