About me
Laurie A. Solomon, MD, is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She is part of the addiction treatment team, is a designated Professionals Resource Network and Intervention Project for Nurses evaluator and has an outpatient general psychiatric clinic at UF Health Florida Recovery Center.
Dr. Solomon obtained her bachelor’s degree and medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic. Upon her return to the U.S., she completed a pediatric internship at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. She then completed a residency in psychiatry and fellowship in addiction medicine at the University of Florida.
Prior to joining UF Health, Dr. Solomon served as an attending psychiatrist at Meridian Behavioral where she provided outpatient and inpatient care for children, adolescents and adults. She then joined Sarkis Family Psychiatry/Sarkis Clinical Trials where she provided care for all ages and was a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials.
Dr. Solomon has been volunteering at Helping Hands Clinic since 2011 and has received several awards, including the Donna Buchanan Resident Grant and the Resident Physician Service Award.
