My bio

Dr. Hulou is a neurosurgeon and clinical faculty member at the University of Florida with advanced training in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in Syria. He then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, where his work focused on oncolytic virotherapy for glioblastoma and the microsurgical treatment of complex cranial tumors.

Dr. Hulou completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Kentucky, where he spent a year developing expertise in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery. Following residency, he pursued a highly regarded clinical fellowship at the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute, training under Professor Ali Krisht in the treatment of skull base tumors, cranial aneurysms, cavernous sinus lesions and deeply seated gliomas.

To further refine his technique, Dr. Hulou has visited with Professor Michael Lawton at the Barrow Neurological Institute and Professor Bin Xu at Fudan University in Shanghai, focusing on advanced approaches to cerebrovascular disease.

Dr. Hulou’s work has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and he has authored book chapters on advanced neurosurgical techniques. He is also a frequent instructor in national hands-on dissection and lab-based training courses.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hulou enjoys traveling with his wife, Dana, and son, Sam. He is fluent in English and Arabic and conversational in Japanese and German
