My bio
Matthew Walser, PA-C, ATC: Matt “the Sports PA” graduated with a degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training and Education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 1994. After graduation, he was selected to work as an intern with the Dallas Cowboys before he returned to Colorado and served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado. After a short stint at the high school level, he earned his master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Florida and transitioned from a graduate assistant to a full time staff position with UF football. He worked up to the role of Associate Head Football Athletic Trainer before he resigned to attend Physician Assistant School at the University of Florida. Upon graduation in 2006, he was hired at UF Orthopaedics where he spent 12 years working with the sports medicine surgeons in a clinical and surgical role. He has spent countless hours teaching athletic training, physical therapy and physician assistant students since his arrival to UF in 1995. He continues his involvement with medical coverage of UF athletic events. He currently serves as a physician assistant with the UF Student Health Care Center in the Sports Medicine and Acute Care (SMAC) Division and is actively involved with the Athletic Training, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Education Programs. His hobbies include flying and spending time outdoors and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
