About me

My name is Melanie Bracewell, PT, DPT, and I am a physical therapist at UF Health Rehab – Magnolia Parke. I decided to become a physical therapist when I was just eight years old. At the time, my grandmother was recovering from a neurological illness and worked with a physical therapist for several months. Seeing her improvement was inspirational.

I graduated from the University of Florida with a Master Degree in Physical Therapy in 2001. In 2023, I earned my Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University.

My area of interest surrounds pelvic health, physical therapy for female, male, and non-binary patients. I treat a wide-range of conditions, including treatment for constipation; urinary and fecal urgency, frequency and incontinence; pelvic and genital pain; painful intercourse; painful menstruation; pregnancy and postpartum pain and dysfunction; pelvic organ prolapse; low back, hip and pelvic girdle and sacroiliac joint disorders; abdominal pain; scar tissue restriction and pain; core weakness and instability.

I also focus on post-surgical recovering following gynecological, prostate and gender affirmation surgeries, as well as cancer and related problems, including sexual dysfunction, post-surgical and post radiation management. In the future, my goal is to expand my knowledge on sexual health, particularly for those recovering from cancer or neurological illnesses and injuries.

When not working, I enjoy my other fulfilling career of being a mother. I enjoy being outside in nature, particularly traveling to National Parks.
