About me
I'm Dr. Michael Guju, and I work in physical medicine and rehabilitation, or PM&R, as well as interventional pain management at UF Health. It was a fascination with the neuromuscular skeletal system that led me to the PM&R field years ago.
I received my medical degree in 2019 from the University of South Floridas Morsani College of Medicine. After graduation, I went on to complete a residency in PM&R at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, where I had the privilege of treating members of the community. During this time, I also treated active duty military at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center.
Through my experiences, I found that pain was most often the limiting factor in my patients' quality of life and function. This compelled me to complete additional training with an interventional pain management fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers department of anesthesia. I want my patients to know that it is my goal to provide personalized care and ensure that each one feels heard and understood.
I was raised in the Tampa area and am an avid Buccaneers and Lightning fan. I live here in Gainesville with my wife and two daughters. We love the warm weather, exploring parks, and spending time at the beach. I played high school football in Pinellas County, Florida, and have been a football fan ever since, rooting for the Florida Gators of course, along with my alma maters, Wake Forest and the University of South Florida!
