About me
Hi, my name is Dr. Lagrew and I serve as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Florida.
I grew up in Central Florida, but Gainesville quickly became my home. I graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine with academic honors, receiving the Alumni Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Professionalism and Humanism- an award recognizing top students for outstanding scholarship and compassionate service.
I completed my residency training at the University of Florida, where I served as a chief resident, earned the Society of Teaching Scholars Outstanding Resident Educator Award and was named Resident of the Year for dedication to teaching and patient care. I also volunteered as the resident liaison at the Equal Access Clinic and was honored as the Ophthalmology Equal Access Provider of the Year, recognizing service in Advocacy and quality care for underserved patients.
As an ophthalmologist, I’m especially drawn to the operating room-performing intricate, microscope-guided procedures that can restore sight. I love the balance of hands-on surgical work, nuanced office exams and the opportunity to maintain long-term relationships with patients-all geared toward helping them see and live their best.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, playing golf and supporting the Florida Gators.
