My bio

Pam obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Florida in 1995. She practiced at Shands Hospital and the VA Medical Intensive Care Unit as a registered nurse. She obtained her Master’s of Science in Adult Health Nursing at the University of Florida in 2006. She has been credentialed with the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2007. She has also completed the National Parkinson Foundation Allied Team Training.

Pam joined the UF Health Movement Disorders team in 2006 and has received advanced training with movement disorder experts. She is an expert Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) programmer focusing on Parkinson’s disease, Essential Tremor, Multiple Sclerosis tremor, post stroke tremor, traumatic brain injury tremor, Dystonia, Tourette’s, OCD, Alzheimer’s and a variety of other rare movement disorders. She is an expert at programming DBS devices including Medtronic, Abbott and Boston Scientific systems.

She has assisted in training over 40 UF Neurology Movement Disorder fellows on DBS programming as well as various visiting providers that have followed her to gain more knowledge regarding DBS programming. She has given over 60 lectures on DBS programming to PD support groups, Neurology Residents, Neurology Fellows and physical therapy students. She has been invited as an expert for Medscape Neurology Roundtable Discussion on Parkinson’s Disease psychosis. She also served as an expert for a roundtable publication called Counseling Points on various Parkinson disease topics.

Pam assists in the coordination of the DBS program at the Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. She is a critical part of our DBS surgery interdisciplinary meetings and participates in all of our DBS research studies.
