Nationally recognized as one of the most respected surgeons in bariatric medicine, Dr. Marema has performed over 17,000 bariatric procedures. He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine, and has served as a member of many reputable organizations including the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Fellow of the American College of Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery among others. His specializes in both open and laparoscopic surgery procedures as well as adjustable gastric banding. Being a successful bariatric patient himself has given Dr. Marema the unique understanding of the process from that perspective, and allows him to be informative, and thorough with patients as they navigate through bariatric medical options.
