My bio

Hi, my name is Sara Deatsman, I am board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I was inspired to become an OB-GYN because I knew for a long time that I wanted to be in a scientific field. Medicine combined my love for biological sciences with my desire to work with people. As a medical student, I was especially drawn to becoming an OB-GYN for several reasons- it offered a mix of office visits, surgery and inpatient care; allowed for long-term continuity with patients through many phases of their lives; and gave me the opportunity to be part of some of the most important moments in those lives.

As an OB-GYN I strive to have my patients feel heard and feel they are safe to share things they otherwise don’t talk about or feel comfortable asking about. I’m committed to providing excellent care for women throughout all stages of life. I enjoy every aspect of OB-GYN from caring for pregnant patients to providing routine gynecologic care and surgery.

After my undergraduate studies, I earned my medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. I went on to complete my residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida.

My clinical interests include perimenopause and menopause, and I am a certified menopause provider through The Menopause Society.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, exercising, traveling and experiencing different places.
