My bio

As one of the few preventive pediatric cardiologists in the state of Florida, I specialize in a field dedicated to reducing the risk of heart disease in children by identifying and managing factors such as high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol. I’m also board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.

I earned my Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from New York Medical College in Valhalla. Afterward, I completed my pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, followed by an additional year of clinical research training at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Now, I’m a proud pediatric cardiologist at University of Florida Health.

I have worked extensively with the American Heart Association, or AHA. In 2019, I expanded my contributions to a national platform when I was nominated to the Committee on Atherosclerosis, Hypertension, and Obesity in the Young (AHOY). I served two consecutive terms in this role. In addition to my time on the AHOY committee, I co-authored several national guideline papers for the AHA.

I’m passionate about community service. I’m an active member of several national service organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I’m also a member of the Northeast Florida Medical Society, as well as the Association of Black Cardiologists Preventive Cardiology Committee.

I’m also a highly sought-after speaker on pediatric preventive cardiology at local and national events. I enjoy traveling and exercising, in addition to attending my son’s fencing matches and basketball games with my husband.
