About me
Hi! I'm Zach Sutton, a physical therapist at UF Health. With a doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Florida, I specialize in concussion management, vertigo associated disorders, overhead athlete rehabilitation (specifically baseball), youth athlete development and general orthopedics.
My journey into physical therapy was deeply influenced by my own experiences battling multiple injuries during my college and minor league baseball career. These challenges ignited my passion for helping athletes overcome similar obstacles and led me to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Today, I find immense fulfillment in being part of each patient's journey to recovery. My goal is to assist them in achieving their physical and athletic goals by developing a deep understanding of their condition and providing them with the skills to overcome their injuries. I firmly believe in the power of exercise as medicine, and I strive to empower individuals to lead better quality lives through proper application of exercise principles.
Currently, I serve as the site manager for the UF Health Rehab Center at the UF Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic. Additionally, I've held roles as the lead physical therapist for the University of Florida Multidisciplinary Trauma, Concussion and Sports Neuromedicine Program (TRACS) and as a consultant to the University of Florida Athletic Association. I'm also a courtesy clinical instructor for the University of Florida Physical Therapy department, delivering lectures for the University of Florida Athletic Training Program, and presenting at various state, national, and international conferences. Furthermore, I've contributed to several textbooks on the management of mild traumatic brain injury and neurocognitive rehabilitation for orthopedic injury prevention.
Outside of work, I enjoy coaching youth sports, engaging in strength training and spending time fishing. Above all, I'm a proud husband and father to seven children. My own athletic background includes playing baseball at the University of Central Florida and in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
I am deeply committed to making a positive impact in the lives of my patients and the broader community through my work in physical therapy and sports medicine.
