My bio

Summer Rye-Buckingham, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and fellowship-trained pediatric cardiologist with advanced training in cardiac imaging, specializing in the diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired heart disease in children. She earned her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Florida, and subsequently served as chief fellow during her pediatric cardiology fellowship in cardiac imaging at the University of Florida.

Dr. Rye-Buckingham has presented her research at national and international conferences, with a focus on congenital heart disease, cardiac imaging and cardiovascular outcomes in pediatric patients. She is also an active contributor to quality improvement initiatives, including newborn murmur management and advanced cardiac imaging protocols.

Passionate about patient-centered care, Dr. Rye-Buckingham is committed to guiding families through complex diagnoses with compassion, clear communication and evidence-based treatment plans.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys volleyball, global health mission work, and community outreach to inspire future generations of health care professionals.
