Thomas J Moon, MD : Bio and credentials
Pediatric Cardiologist
My bio
As a board-certified pediatric cardiologist who cares for children with both congenital and acquired heart conditions, I work closely with families to ensure each child receives compassionate, individualized care. I have a special focus on noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, which includes transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography, as well as cardiac MRI.
My path to medicine began in engineering, where I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Case Western Reserve University before transitioning to a career in medicine. I completed my medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by pediatric residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Colorado. I later completed advanced training in noninvasive imaging at Boston Children’s Hospital.
I’m passionate about education and have been involved in teaching medical students and residents since 2013. I frequently give lectures and presentations locally and nationally, and I have contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on pediatric cardiology.
Outside the hospital, I enjoy jogging, spending time outdoors and playing pickleball and golf. I’m committed to ensuring every patient and family feels informed, supported and safe throughout their care journey.
