My bio
My name is TJ Fillmer, DO. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine, where I care for patients at UF Health Family Medicine – Eastside. In evaluating medical conditions, I take a comprehensive, patient-centered approach—considering lifestyle, nutrition, and environmental factors that influence overall health. My goal is to offer holistic, evidence-informed treatment options that support long-term wellness.
I believe the body has a natural capacity to heal when given the right conditions. I strive to partner with my patients to create and sustain those conditions, empowering them to take an active role in their health.
I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, and completed my residency at Ascension St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency in Jacksonville. During my training, I pursued additional research in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and lifestyle medicine, further shaping my integrative approach to patient care.
In my free time, I enjoy making music, fishing, golfing, and spending time with my growing family.
