About me
Dr. Xianrui “Sherry” Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Courtesy Faculty in the Department of Oral Biology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD). Dr. Yang obtained her DMD, PhD, and orthodontics training from the West China School of Stomatology. Since the first year of her PhD, she has been at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, working on extracellular biology and intracellular signaling mechanisms in the Department of Developmental Biology. She continued her postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard University and then pursued her orthodontics residency and master of science at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Dr. Yang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Yang has been conducting research in both basic science and clinical orthodontics. She has published over 50 articles and served as an editor and reviewer for multiple scientific journals. At UFCD, Dr. Yang continues treating patients, teaching students, and running her research lab. Her interests include the mechanobiology of tooth movement and clinical translational research.
