Yomary A Jimenez Lopez, MD : Bio and credentials
Cardiologist (Heart Specialist)
My bio
I earned my medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic, where I graduated magna cum laude. I completed my internal medicine residency at SBH Health System in New York, where I served as chief resident. My training continued at the University of Florida, where I completed an advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship and a cardiovascular disease fellowship, serving as chief educational fellow. Today, I’m a general cardiologist at UF Health with special focus on heart failure, cardio-obstetrics and women’s cardiovascular health.
I chose a career in cardiology because I enjoy building strong relationships with patients and helping them through complex heart conditions with compassion and teamwork. I am especially passionate about caring for patients with heart failure and heart disease during pregnancy. I am also active in research and medical education.
I believe patients should feel heard, informed and supported throughout their care. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based treatment while helping patients and families feel confident every step of the way.
