Enzyme markers

Definition

Enzyme markers are tests for specific enzyme activity in the body. Diseases or defects passed down through families (inherited) can affect how enzymes work. Some enzymes are affected by several genes.

Test results are usually reported as a percentage of normal enzyme activity.
