Description

Do you live with limb loss? Would you like to participate in a training program so that you could provide a peer visit to a person who has recently experienced limb loss to help provide a positive role model, inspiration, and share information?

The Amputee Coalition of America has a day-long training program that UF Health Shands Rehab Hospital is proud to sponsor for the second year. People who successfully complete training are then Certified Peer Visitors and have the opportunity to be called upon to offer education and support to a person with a recent (or upcoming) limb loss.

Did you have someone to talk to during your situation? This is a national program with over 1,000 trained visitors throughout the country.

Please join us on May 16, 2015 at the Alachua County Senior Center for our Certified Peer Visitor training course. For more information and application materials, please contact Becky Piazza M.S., OTR/L, clinical coordinator, at piazzr@shands.ufl.edu.
