Description

Injuries are the leading cause of preventable deaths in children. In fact, according to the CDC, trauma, or injuries are the leading cause of ALL deaths in children under 14 years of age. Understanding the common ways children get hurt can help us learn how to prevent them. Implementing proven prevention strategies significantly reduces injuries, complications and deaths from pediatric trauma.

Keeping children safe is an issue that affects our entire community. Hear from members of the UF Health pediatric trauma team about the most common injuries and things we can all do to prevent them. Every child deserves a chance to grow up and see their dreams come true.

Hear from Robin Petroze, M.D., M.P.H., who is a UF Health Pediatric Surgeon and the associate medical director of the UF Health Pediatric Trauma Program during this live event. Attendees can ask questions, via the Zoom Q/A feature, during the live event.
