Description

Join us at the UF Health Psychiatric Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 6-8:30 p.m. for a special evening of remembrance, education and hope in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day.

At this free community event, we aim to highlight the pressing issue of drug overdose and connect attendees to vital support services available in our community. Dr. Mathias, a renowned addiction medicine specialist from the UF Health Psychiatric Hospital, will lead an insightful discussion titled, "Overdose in a post-pandemic world: Where are we now?"

Additionally, enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, giveaways and more. Our gathering will culminate in a candlelight vigil, allowing us a moment to honor, without stigma, the lives lost to overdose and recognize the profound grief of families and friends left behind.

Let's come together to deepen our understanding, offer support and envision a future where overdose tragedies are a thing of the past.
