1 - 2:45 p.m. LADIES LETS GET TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER.

As a woman, your heart health is unique. Women have different risk factors and precautions they need to be aware of as they age. Women may exhibit atypical symptoms, have risk factors related to age and family history, as well as certain ethnicities. Learn what you need to be mindful of in caring for your heart and how to make these risk factors less prevalent. Learn more about heart care at UF Health here. 3 - 4 p.m. AORTIC ANEURYSM: THE SILENT KILLER. Sometimes its the illnesses you cant see that can be the most harmful. Thoracic aortic aneurysm, or TAA, is an enlargement of the thoracic aorta. It is rarely symptomatic until it ruptures or leads to aortic dissection then it can be fatal. The causes are multifactorial, but smoking, high blood pressure and family history are all risk factors. Fortunately, with early surgical intervention, TAA can be effectively treated and prevent these life-threatening complications. Learn more about thoracic aortic aneurysm's here.
