Description
Team-Based Learning (TBL) requires careful mapping of content and assessments. To best guide students through pre-class preparation and the readiness assurance process instructors need to be able to create high quality learning objectives and multiple choice questions. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce participants to key principles of writing good learning objectives and multiple choice questions (MCQs).
Objectives:
Explain the purpose of a well-written learning objective. Define the elements of a good higher order learning objective. Identify the most common flaws in poorly written MCQs. Appreciate the difficulty and value of writing good MCQs.
Preparation Assignments:
- Please read the PDF TBL Backward Design before the workshop, which is available online at http://facdev.ufhealth.org/resources/TBLatUF/
- Please also read the guidelines for writing multiple choice questions at the following website: http://cft.vanderbilt.edu/guides-sub-pages/writing-good-multiple-choice-test-questions/
