Biography

Dr. Reisfield serves as clinical associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Divisions of Addiction Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry. His interests and expertise are in pain management, substance use disorders, the evaluation and management of dual-diagnosis pain and substance use disorders, substance-related impairment, and clinical and forensic drug testing.

Dr. Reisfield serves as an attending physician on the alcohol and drug detoxification unit at UF Health Shands Psychiatric Hospital. 

He holds editorial positions with Journal of Addiction Medicine, Journal of Analytical Toxicology, Journal of Opioid Management, Pain and Therapy, Pain Medicine, and is a certified Medical Review Officer. He is the co-chair of the Examination Council of the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Reisfield’s major research interests include opioid analgesics and medication adherence monitoring, and he is the author of more than 70 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters.
