Hassan M Alnuaimat, M.D. - Background
Hassan Alnuaimat, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program in the division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Alnuaimat serves as Medical Director for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at UF Health Shands.
Dr. Alnuaimat received his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine, in Amman, Jordan and went on to complete a residency in internal medicine through the Royal Medical Services. He then completed a second internal medicine residency at Yale University – Bridgeport Hospital and then served as chief resident. Following his residency training, Dr. Alnuaimat completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Florida.
He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine, Dr. Alnuaimat’s expertise and clinical work focuses on pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, RV failure, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), ARDS, lung transplantation, and pneumonia. He is an active researcher and his current areas of study focus on pulmonary arterial hypertension, ECMO, pneumonia and critical care medicine. Additionally, Dr. Alnuaimat is an active member of the American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians.
