Transfer or refer a patient 24-7

UF Health Shands HospitalOur team is available around the clock for emergent, urgent and elective patient transfers facilitated through our UF Health Shands Hospital Transfer Center by calling 1-800-XTRANSFER or 352-265-0559. The Transfer Center can assist you in coordimedical transportation through ShandsCair, our critical care transport system, at UF Health.

Make an appointmentTo request an appointment for your patient, call the UF Health Access Center. For an appointment with one of our cardiologists, call 352-265-0820. For an appointment with one of our thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons, call 352-265-0535. For an appointment with on of our vascular surgeons, call 352-265-0535. The Access Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After-hours, non-urgent messages are taken by our in-house answering service. Urgent requests are handled immediately by the Hospital operators.

PulsePoint Respond

Support sudden cardiac arrest intervention in our Gainesville community by downloading the PulsePoint Respond free mobile app. The app alerts citizens and off-duty medical professionals who are within a quarter-mile of the person experiencing a cardiac arrest.
