Jessica Cameron, O.D.
Jessica Cameron is a native Floridian who was raised in the Fort Myers area. In 2008 Jessica earned a bachelor of science degree from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina while also competing on the University swim team. Following graduation, she returned to the sun and sand of Florida to earn her doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in 2013 where she was also inducted as a member of the gold key chapter. She recently completed her residency in primary care at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. While completing residency, she presented numerous lectures as well as writing a manuscript on the spontaneous closure of macular holes. During her time at the VA Jessica focused on quality patient care, setting a personal goal for herself to treat every patient as if they were family.
Teaching Roles and Interests
Currently active board member of the local optometry society (North Central Florida Optometric Society).
Active Fellowship Acceptance Committee panel member of American Academy of Optometry, responsible for testing and reviewed written works for optometry fellowship admittance.
Actively accepts pre-optometry UF students for shadowing opportunities.
Speaker at local continuing education meetings in Gainesville, FL.
