Biography

Leslie Avery, MD, is the Chief and Associate Professor of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine beginning July of 2013. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from Yale University School of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California. She completed a pediatric critical fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco and Children’s Hospital Oakland, California. Before joining UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Nevada School of Medicine / Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada serving as a pediatric intensivist and also later served as the medical director of the PICU and sedation services.
