UF Health’s orthopaedic oncology program consists of a comprehensive team of fellowship-trained orthopaedic oncology surgeons, pathologists, adult and pediatric oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, general and thoracic surgeons, nurses, therapists, and social workers. This multidisciplinary team meets weekly to maintain seamless communication and to discuss the complex needs of each individual patient’s care plan.
Our team treats a number of conditions, including:
- Adult and pediatric soft tissue sarcoma
- Adult and pediatric bone lesions
- Benign and malignant soft tissue tumors
- Benign and malignant primary bone tumors
- Chondrosarcoma
- Ewing sarcoma
- Metastatic disease to bone and pathological fractures
- Fibrous dysplasia
- Osteoid osteoma
- Osteosarcoma
Featuring expertise in performing the following procedures:
- Growing prosthesis (expandable prosthesis for children)
- Navigation-assisted pelvic surgery
- Radiofrequency ablation of benign tumors
- Reconstruction of extremities after cancer surgery, including limb salvage surgery
- Resection of benign and malignant tumors of the extremities
- Rotationplasty
UF Health Orthopaedics And Sports Medicine faculty have access to the umbrella of resources and multidisciplinary research offered by the NCI-Designated UF Health Cancer Center.
