Biography

Michael D. Tsifansky, MD, is board-certified in pediatrics, pediatric critical care medicine, and pediatric pulmonology. He received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of Chicago. He then earned his medical degree from the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine in Ramat Aviv, Israel.  

Dr. Tsifansky completed his pediatric internship and residency at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis. He pursued his fellowship in pediatric pulmonology and critical care medicine at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children and the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He then served a senior fellowship for pediatric critical care medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh. 

Prior to joining UF Health, Dr. Tsifansky was an attending physician in pediatric pulmonology and critical care medicine, and the program director for pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was also an adjunct assistant professor of industrial and physical pharmacy at Purdue University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in W. Lafayette, IN. 

Dr. Tsifansky is currently an attending physician in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and pediatric pulmonology, and serves as medical director of pediatric lung transplantation at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. He is also an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine.  

His clinical interests include pediatric critical care medicine, pediatric cardiac intensive care medicine, pediatric pulmonology, pediatric pulmonary hypertension, pediatric interstitial lung diseases and pediatric lung transplantation.
