Naueen Chaudhry, MD

I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve wellness, and be able to live a wholesome life in my role as assistant professor of gastroenterology in the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. I treat patients for inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease) and celiac disease. I have a special interest in college students with IBD and committed to helping them navigate their disease while transiting through college. I am proud to be an available resource for my patients.

My early inspiration for medicine came from my parents, whose dedication to academic medicine has remained lifelong. I received my medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Pakistan. My passion for gastroenterology took its roots during medical school and has since then continued to grow with time. Following medical school, I completed my internal medicine residency at Brookdale University Medical Center in New York. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at UF, where I was exclusively dedicated to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research for three years. During this time, I completed a degree in master of science in clinical and translational sciences. I completed my fellowship in gastroenterology at UF and continued my work with my mentors in IBD.

My research focuses in IBD, includes the role of imaging in the management of IBD, the college transition and disease related challenges faced by college students with IBD and the cardiovascular risk in IBD patients, among others. I received a grant by the Consortium for Medical Marijuana Clinical Outcomes Research for investigating marijuana use in patients with IBD.

I am board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, I am a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. When not practicing at UF Health Medical Plaza, I enjoy listening to music, reading books and spending time in my garden.
