Faculty members elected to surgery society
Two University of Florida College of Medicine faculty members have been elected to the Society of University Surgeons.
Dr. David Mozingo, an associate professor of surgery and anesthesiology and the director of Shands Burn Center at UF, and Dr. D. Scott Lind, an associate professor of surgery who specializes in surgical oncology, were elected by their peers to the society, whose nationwide membership is limited to 250 outstanding academic surgeons under 45 years old.
The society is an academic fellowship aimed at advancing all aspects of the surgical field by encouraging original investigations in the clinic and laboratory, developing methods for graduate surgery teaching and exchanging ideas.
